Wajiha Syed

Career

Wajiha Syed began her career in 2007 at a consulting firm, specialising in insurance and actuarial services.

She then joined the French Prudential Supervision and Resolution Authority (ACPR), where from 2010 to 2016 she successively served as an Insurance Supervisor and Supervision Specialist. In this role, she developed strong expertise, gaining extensive experience in the supervision of insurance companies as well as in financial and compliance risks analysis. In 2016 she joined PwC as a Director within the Regulatory Centre of Excellence for Financial Services Risk and Regulation.

After serving as Public Affairs and Compliance Director at a digital insurance company from 2019 to 2020 , Wajiha joined BNP Paribas Cardif in 2020. She successively held the positions of Head of Prudential Standards and Director of Internal Audit.

In February 2026, she was appointed Acting Chief Compliance Officer and became of member the Executive Committee of BNP Paribas Cardif.

Education

Wajiha Syed holds a degree from the École Nationale d’Assurances (ENAss), specializing in finance, and is an associate member of the Institute of Actuaries.
