Matthieu Bonte

Global Chief Investment Officer

Matthieu Bonte is Global Chief Investment Officer and a member of BNP Paribas Cardif Executive Committee since April 2026.

Career

Matthieu Bonte began his career in 1997 with the AXA Group in France, where he held several positions, starting in the ALM (Asset Liability Management) division and later in the Structured Asset Management department at AXA Investment Managers, where he contributed to overseeing structured asset management.

In 2007, he joined the BNP Paribas Group, becoming part of the CIB (Corporate & Investment Banking) teams as head of structuring activities dedicated to insurance companies and pension funds.

From 2010 to 2017, he worked for Goldman Sachs in London within the Pension & Insurance Strategic Group, supervising the negotiation and distribution of structured financial solutions.

In 2017, he rejoined the AXA Group, this time in the United Kingdom, as Chief Investment Officer of AXA UK & Ireland. Starting in 2019, he was appointed Chief Investment Officer of AXA France and led the European Investment Hub, overseeing AXA’s investments in France, Italy, Spain, and Luxembourg.

In April 2026, Matthieu Bonte joined the BNP Paribas Cardif teams as Global Chief Investment Officer and became a member of the Executive Committee of BNP Paribas Cardif on this occasion.

Education

Matthieu Bonte holds an engineering degree from Centrale Supélec (Ecole Supérieure d’Electricité) and has also completed actuarial training at the Center for Actuarial Studies in Paris.
