For the renewal of the Label diversity of BNP Paribas held since 2009, the practices of BNP Paribas Assurance have been distinguished.
BNP Paribas Assurance, indeed, is committed as regards prevention of discriminations, equal opportunity and promotion of diversity in the human resources management.
Diversity has been already in the heart of the enterprise for a few years.
BNP Paribas Assurance formed a Diversity Committee in 2008, chaired by the Chairman and CEO. A document circulated to all staff in 2009 formally laid out the company's commitment to diversity, detailing the principles it applies to fight against all forms of discrimination and promote equal opportunity.
Several high-profile actions were already taken to promote diversity in the company. BNP Paribas Assurance signed an agreement under the terms of which it commits to increasing the employment rate of seniors.
A second program provided employee education for disability issues, including an event at headquarters to show people firsthand the challenges faced by colleagues with disabilities. Efforts are also being made to increase the number of disabled employees at the company.
The third focus of diversity efforts is multiculturalism.
"Multiculturalism is tremendously enriching for the company. In 2009 we produced a short documentary in which employees recounted how BNP Paribas Assurance helped them obtain work papers. We also created a Diversity page on our Intranet to provide regular information on initiatives", says Olivia Le Prévost, Head of labor relations, BNP Paribas Assurance.
