BNP Paribas Cardif is an engaged insurer whose responsibility is based upon four focus areas.  These are in line with the BNP Paribas Group policy: 

 

Economic

- Active contribution to economic development and financing of the real economy, with €339 billion investments.

- 58% of assets in our General Fund subject to Environmental, Social and Governance criteria.

- Discover our responsible investment strategy and the report pursuant to Article 173 (French Energy Transition and Green Growth law)

- Green investment including Green Bond (1) totalling €1,7 millions

- Investment in social and solidarity funds: €375 million by 2018

Social

- A human resource policy promoting diversity and gender equality: staff spanning 80 nationalities across 35 countries. 50% women members of Executive Committees and 40% Boards of Directors.

- 100% of staff trained on ethical issues and data protection.

- 80% of employees dealing with human rights issues received a traning in 2018.

- Over 300 managers trained in 2018 to identify psychosocial risk.

Civic

- Providing easy to understand customer documents: Over 10,000 letters and contracts revised to use B1 language.

- Skills volunteering programmes to support education, entrepreneurial and solidarity initiatives: more than 3 400 beneficiaries worldwild.

- Positive contribution of our investments to the 17 Sustainable Development Goals created by the United Nations

Environmental

- €3.5 billion green investments at December end 2017 (a 46% increase).

- Signature of the Montreal Carbon Pledge (2) and carbone footprint calculated using Vigeo methodology : 127 tonnes C02 / €m at end of december 2018

- Energy charter for company buildings signed in 2013, 60% of BNP Paribas Cardif buildings have been certified to HQE (3) or BREEAM (3) standards.

    - 22% decrease in our global energy consumption compared to 2011, data measured by an independant body.
