A beehive on the roof at BNP Paribas Cardif

As part of its CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) policy, BNP Paribas Cardif and all the staff at the Nanterre HQE head office have supported the plan to locate a beehive on the roof of the building.

France is currently losing one in three of its bee colonies every year, largely as a result of human-generated pollution (chemical fertilizers, insecticides, etc.). Working to conserve bee populations is therefore an important challenge in protecting the environment and its natural riches.

The fact that bees play an essential role in maintaining biodiversity has been clearly demonstrated by research conducted by INRA (the French National Institute for Agricultural Research) and CNRS (the French National Center for Scientific Research), which estimates that 35% of global food production is directly dependent on these pollinators.

Setting up an apiary in our building is an opportunity for BNP Paribas Cardif to follow up its environmental policy
