Opportunities for expanding the bancassurance market

The third section examined opportunities for the expansion of bancassurance through:
- discussion of issues raised by the accelerating pace of e-commerce growth in Europe
- exploitation of the outcomes of practical and original experiments conducted by Cardif in Europe and South America, and other projects undertaken by its business partners.
Virginie Korniloff, Chief Operating Officer of BNP Paribas Cardif, explained how new consumer expectations are driving the need to adapt product ranges to meet the needs of consumers, and the further need to identify clear customer segments as the basis for improved range personalization by combining logical motivations like death, accident and healthcare, with personal motivations, such as risk perception.
François Momboisse, President of the FEVAD (federation of e-commerce and distance sales) and Head of Development and New Technologies at fnac.com, presented an overview of online retailing in Europe, underlining the significant differences between countries and highlighting opportunities for growth in distance selling, with the emphasis on insurance products.
