Cardif involved in bancassurance research in Taiwan

In Taiwan, Cardif is the first insurer to sponsor academical dedicated to bancassurance research through a 5 years sponsorship with the Shih-Chien University. Shih-Chien Cardif Bancassurance Research Centre was built in 2006.
In this context, Cardif organized by the end of 2010 the 5th bancassurance forum at GIS MOTC Convention Centre in Taipei City.
The event gathered nearly 200 partners from wealth management and insurance brokers under banks, all insurer peers.
Discussions were focused around the 3 following topics:
- the supervision and challenge of bancassurance in Taiwan, by Mr. Jan-Juy Lin-Commissioner of Financial Supervisory Commission
- development and current status of bancassurance in Europe, by Mr. Xavier Guilmineau, CEO of Cardif in Asia
During his speech, Xavier Guilmineau explained that bancassurance is an important channel in Europe in Asia. He also presented :
- the different steps of development in Europe,
- the three main structures for Bancassurance in Europe,
- the wide range of products offered by bancassurance,
- the advantages of the European Bancassurance model for customers and also for banks and insurance companies
- Taiwan bancassurance current development and research analysis, by Mr. Peng, Jin-Lung ( Ph.D) and Chief of Cardif Shih-Chien University research centre
During his speech, he explained that bancassurance in Taiwan has a very strong development for 5 years and demonstrated of its strength during the financial crisis. He also indicated that bancassurance is a significant business for many banks ant that it will expand further in the coming years.
