BNP Paribas Assurance CSR policy hailed by extra-financial ratings agency
02/02/2011
BNP Paribas Assurance asked Europe's leading extra-financial ratings agency Vigeo to evaluate its Corporate Social Responsibility policy.
The goals of this voluntary initiative were to:
- measure the company's level of commitment and the performance achieved by its environmental, human rights, human resources, social engagement, market behavior and corporate governance initiatives
- compare the commitment of BNP Paribas Assurance with that of its competitors
The results of the survey are very encouraging:
- a very good rating in the ‘Environment', ‘Social Engagement' and ‘Market Behavior' categories
- a good rating in areas such as human resources and diversity promotion.
Some initiatives could be improved by harmonizing head office policy with the initiatives undertaken by individual Group companies - some initiatives were identified as areas of progress.
One of these was corporate governance, where the unlisted company rules applied by BNP Paribas Assurance are compared with the standards governing listed companies.
